Caster Program

Created in the Spring 2022 semester, the WCE Caster Program gives SUNY Poly students the opportunity to discover Esports Broadcasting and another chance to be involved in our program without competing. Supervised by our Publicity Coordinator, students in the Caster Program work closely with players to bring their games to screens across the world on our Twitch Channel!

Caster Program Positons

There is no I in team. The Caster Program in WCE needs multiple people working together to keep the boat afloat and the streams going! Below are all the positions students can apply for.

Play by Play Commentator

Casters in this role will be discussing or talking about what they see during the game. Every action, every play should be covered by this commentator. Play by plays will be talking the most during the stream and are encouraged to have water with them during every stream.

Color Coordinator

Casters in this role will be adding background or information that a watcher may need. This can be player stats, previous matchups, or other data that can benefit someone watching the game. This can also be seen as discussing strategies or other nuances of the map or game which may seem odd to some.

Camera Operator

Helping the players get their on-camera presence all set up is a skill that will easily translate into the real world, as the Camera Operator will have the responsibility of making sure our talent looks the best! Camera Ops will be responsible of controlling the camera inigame and tracking the action in real time!

Player Rep

Responsible for setting up agreements to stream between schools, the Player Rep will help tie up loose ends to make sure that our casters can stream their matches. Only players of WCE can be player reps.
